Lucent Video Wall Display

Spagnola & Associates, New York, New York, 1998

Description

Our challenge was to design a video display wall that would illustrate the products and services of Lucent Technologies to customers, in an exhibit format that would emphasize the international aspect of Lucent’s business and would be easy to change and update.

We designed a display wall with eight video monitors in circular shapes behind back-painted glass panels. The silent twelve-minute video program (powered by the latest DVD technology) is made up of photographs and graphic imagery that communicate the Lucent message instantly, at a glance, without the use of words. Customers absorb brief moments of the program as they move from meeting to meeting within the center.

The radio wave shape, which is the foundation of wireless technology, was applied to the front surface of the glass panels using reflective Scotchlite vinyl. The wave shape activates the front surface of the glass panels and links the eight video monitors together.
