Project Projects, New York, New York, New York, 2010

Description

Project brief: We were asked by renowned landscape architects and urban planners Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates to design a new site for the firm to address an audience of clients, colleagues, students and the media. In addition to showcasing the firm’s impressive portfolio of projects, the site also draws links to MVVA’s multidisciplinary fluency in practice. The process took place over approximately six months.

Approach: The new website employs an interactive layer that allows images to go full screen and create an immersive experience of the landscape. The website’s colors change over the course of a day, suggesting the subtle shifting of the landscape.

Effectiveness: MVVA was delighted with their bold new site.

Juror Notes

Educational but absolutely elegant and beautiful at the core. Great photography that draws you in.
