Description

Since 1973, Christopher Pullman has served as vice president of design at WGBH, the Boston public television station. He and his staff are responsible for the complete visual personality (broadcast, print, and interactive media) of WGBH, which in 1986 received the AIGA's Design Leadership Award in recognition of its “advancement of design by application of the highest standards, as a matter of policy, to all visual communications.” He received a BA from Princeton and an MFA from Yale, where he has taught graduate and undergraduate studies and is still a senior critic. Before joining WGBH, he was also a member of the original design faculty at SUNY Purchase, ran a freelance design practice, and was a design consultant to the office of George Nelson in New York. He has served on the national boards of the Design Management Institute, the AIGA, the ACD, and the Corporate Design Foundation. He was named to the first list of the I.D. 40, has lectured widely to schools and organizations, and has published articles on design for television.
