The Warning Drum

The Warning Drum

S.T. Farquhar, A.R. Tommasini, 1944

Description

Juror Notes

The historic matter in this book might well have led a designer astray, seeking to imitate a period style. However, a readable and modern book was made, with only enough flavor of the early nineteenth century, in the style of the headings, to allude to it faintly. And this flavor was achieved by no hit-and-miss scrambling of old types, but by a careful study of the printing mannerisms of the 1820’s.
