Cheetah Valley Port Label

Cheetah Valley Port Label

Werner Design Werks Inc., Minneapolis, Minnesota, 1997

Description

This South African port label looks like a hand-labeled bottle from a vintner’s prersonal stock, a special gift from a limited vintage, hand-touched and personally cared for. The script is reminiscent of a classic French wine label, but goes back to a time when the script was not typeset, but rendered by a calligrapher. Because the labels had to be on a roll for application purposes, one of the greatest challenges was reproducing the aged quality with flexographic printing.
