Beyond Black & White

Beyond Black & White

Alan Hill Design, New York, New York, 1995

Description

This design asks questions about packaging, its own as well as its subject of race relations. By abstracting the title beyond its proper boundaries, the cover challenges its audience to question assumptions about appearances, expectations, information. The dual black/white covers offer an obvious yet useful appeal to move the contentious discussion of race ‘beyond black and white,’ to facilitate fresh dialogs in pursuit of racial democracy.
