Frankenstein

Frankenstein

Alfred A. Knopf, New York, New York, 2009

Description

Everyman’s Library has over 200 titles in print, all classic works from the Bible to Toni Morrison’s Beloved. Though I haven’t counted the numbers of Frankenstein editions currently in bookstores, they are numerous. This design is hopefully a fresh take on Shelley’s work. The photo is from the George Eastman collection, an archive of original photo-collage experimentation.

Juror Notes

I love the juxtaposition of the classical format with the almost violently strange central image. Refreshes an old series.
