Olive Room Promotion

Olive Room Promotion

Slaughter Hanson, Birmingham, Alabama, 1998

Description

The Olive Room is a late-night martini bar with an eccentric vibe, a Dean-Martin-meets-the-Jetsons kind of place. As a promotional piece, we produced a book of keepsake matches for them. We thought using an olive in their logo might be a tad obvious; instead, we used a crescent moon on an olive background to make the letter “O.” We still wanted to slip in an olive someplace, so we had the match tip produced to look like an olive. The matchbook itself looks like an incense slipcase with a die-cut hole to hold a single match. The cover was matte engraving with white foil.
