This title has been chosen as the representative of a series which makes the best of paper limitations and offers in compact format and attractive and saleable volume, something that has long been hoped for by many readers and tried with varying success by publishers. The antithesis of prewar giants printed on bulking paper, these handy, good-looking books make a virtue of necessity, and may have a lasting effect on bookmaking. Selling at normal-size volume prices, they compensate for their seeming smallness by such refinements as bookmark-ribbons, gilt tops, and headbands. The binding on this title is not up to par. With too much foredge overhang of the boards, and ineffectual blind stamping on the side.
