Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum Exhibition Design

The Burdick Group, San Francisco, California, 1995

Description

Exhibition planning and design for a 40,000 square foot museum (inclusive of the Hall of Fame) which presents Rock and Roll in meaningful contexts--the Historical, Social, Performers’, and Fan’s Experiences - providing fresh interpretations of the subject matter for visitors who already “own the art.” The “tools” of Rock - sound, video, changing lighting effects, costumes and memorabilia - are combined with dynamic exhibit structures and graphic imagery to create a new type of museum environment that is expressive of the music’s “edge and energy.” Visitors can expand upon their experiences by exploring Rock and Roll via four interactive computer programs - each comprised of large databases of audio and video material.
