The Disappearing Body

The Disappearing Body

Doubleday, New York, New York, 2001

Description

I was approached with the problem of designing a jacket for a noir thriller, that wasn’t supposed to look like a noir thriller. I chose strong title typeface, Trade Gothic, to illustrate the title’s image, rather than creating a separate and literal illustrative translation of the title—since all that needed to be “seen” was in the words of the title itself: disappearing.
