Looking Through Glass

Looking Through Glass

Barbara De Wilde Design, New York, New York, 1995

Description

This is a literal solution to a book about a young man who time travels when he looks through a glass telescope that he finds. I think what lifts this design from its literalness is the beautiful production and the addition of gold foil-stamped ornamentation to the bottom of the jacket. The contrast of the grittiness of the black and white photograph and the shine of the foil evoke an Indian landscape and create an interest that go beyond the image.
