Wedding invitation

Wedding invitation

Liana Zamora Design, New York, New York, New York, 2010

Description

Project brief: We wanted our wedding invite to reflect us and the venue. We were getting married at The Foundry in Long Island City, which was an old metal foundry before its renovation into a venue space. The outside poster still on the brick of the building was the inspiration for the design. We are both creative people and wanted to reflect on our design and architectural background.

Approach: The concept was the venue itself. I used three typefaces, Clarendon being the main font with two additional Dover old-school fonts I scanned in. When we went to the place, I knew it needed the rustic and old-school poster and architecture feel. All type is what it called for. Plus, letterpress printing was a must.

Effectiveness: We have received many compliments on our nontraditional wedding invites.

Juror Notes
