American Family Immigration History Center computer-based activities

ESI Design, New York, New York, 2001

Description

This series of computer-based activities allows visitors to the American Family Immigration History Center to learn about their family history and the history of American immigration. In 2 key activities, visitors can search over 20 million records to find information about family members who immigrated through Ellis Island and create multimedia Family History Scrapbooks that are then added to the Ellis Island Archives. Our primary challenge for this project was creating activities that can be easily accessed and navigated both online and at the center.

Juror Notes

“This project is truly exceptional. It engages its audience on a physical and emotional level. It allows people to contribute something valuable and then take the experience with them and continue to develop it.”
