Driveway product demo

Factor Design, Inc., San Francisco, California, 2000

Description

On the heels of our successful redesign of the free online file storage site, Driveway asked us to design a Flash-based product demo that would quickly introduce consumers to its service. The Driveway team had originally envisioned creating a step-by-step product tutorial that would walk people through the different facets of the product and its functionality. We suggested that viewers would first need to know the value it offered. We opted to take the approach of focusing on the three primary benefits of the service: accessing files, sharing those files with others and organizing your files. Our solution drew upon the graphic language of the interface, while expanding the illustration style we created for the homepage. Using Flash to guide the user through the primary benefits, we were able to increase the amount of customers who were signing up for the service each day.
