Inventions of Farewell

Inventions of Farewell

Chin-Yee Lai Design, Forest Hills, New York, 2001

Description

Since a book cover usually conveys the theme of the book, when I began the jacket for Inventions of Farewell, I was confronted by the challenge of finding an image that conveys the concept of death. From several photographs, I chose an image of a single white tulip because I was struck by its lonely serenity, as well as its unyielding and silent strength.
