Our challenge was to design a holiday piece. For our approach, in addition to designing a functional gift piece, we took the opportunity to educate and promote the use of environmentally preferable papers. Each of the four designs was inspired by the earth, air, water and energy-all of which are resources that are threatened by the manufacturing of nonrecycled paper. On the back of each sheet are facts about the environmental impact of paper usage and solutions to help encourage change.
