Herman Miller retained Grant Design Collaborative in 2004 to enhance its relationship with commercial architects and interior designers. Grant has collaborated with the company’s A+D team to design and produce strategic marketing and promotional materials, including the company’s annual holiday greeting. The holiday program was designed to support Herman Miller’s objectives to be human, spirited and purposeful. Since 2001, Grant has designed a holiday greeting to extend the company’s giving program by allowing designers and architects to select one of four industry-focused charities to have a contribution made in their name. Various social organizations range from the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS to Red Cross to Habitat for Humanity. Grant’s design format for the 2004 promotion was a large poster that perforates into sheets of giftwrap to further increase awareness of the charitable organizations. In addition to designing the donation response as a simple website form, to save on paper Grant also selected a recycled stock.
