Description

The challenge was to make hundreds of (sometimes disparate) images into a cohesive, entertaining book. I started by following David Sandlin’s lead (David was the featured illustrator this year) and then brought everything together, based on that approach.

The book is set up with a strict trim size that follows the format of the collection of annuals. The jury-selected images are presented one image per page and in alphabetical order by illustrator. Working within these criteria, I had to produce an engaging book that feels different from the past volumes. The book is intended to be a “trophy” for the winners and a resource for the creative community.
