Description

The challenge was to design a book cover for a collection of short stories. My approach was to work with the title story, while trying to keep the feel of the rest of the book.

Each story in the collection depicts how a central character relates to an environment or an event. In the title story, the odometer of a cherished vintage car is rolling over. Nothing but the achievement of this milestone is of consequence to the character. Using this as a parameter, I attempted to strike a contrast between that single consuming instant and the seemingly less significant surroundings in which it takes place.
