Description

The author argues that, contrary to the assumption that our society functions on the basis of the pursuit of self-interest, the gift still constitutes the foundation of our social fabric. A gift can take many forms, from blood, organs, and charitable donations to small acts of kindness. The concept for the cover was to make the book itself a gift, and to convey the gesture and spirit of giving.
