In this novel, Mark Merlis magically blends ancient headlines with modern myth. The jacket combines them visually, with contemporary figures cleverly sharing the space with ancient Greeks in a classic motif inspired by early Greek vases. The two-color graphic simplicity and homoerotic narratives of those ancient vessels combines modern sensibilities with historical significance. Color, paper stock, and type choice contribute to the intent of the overall design.
