Description

The text is a chronology of events, beginning with the ascension of George III to the throne of England, that brought the Colonies to the point of rebellion and necessitated the establishment of a Continental Army as described in the reproduction of John Adams’ letter of June 18, 1775. The text is set in types specially cast for this edition using matrices produced from the punches engraved in the eighteenth century by William Caslon. Limited to 145 copies.

Special Features: The facsimile o f John Adams’ letter was reproduced in three colors of offset lithography on Warren’s Old Style Laid, by Hope Press, Inc.
