Description

The real challenge in designing this book was to give visual form to what was essentially an auditory experience.

I used handlettering throughout the book, which gave me lots of options for matching letterforms to the sounds, and I incorporated letterforms into the images to give them roles as important as the people, vehicles and cityscapes. I made the words actual characters in the book and presented finished artwork in the form of watercolor paintings, with all lettering as part of the art. The printing was excellent and the end product was very faithful to the artwork.
