Description

The book is an attempt to present the artist’s work with the best possible reproduction under the limitation of our four-color process. Marie Angel was asked to contribute 20 illustrations of creatures in natural and heraldic settings. To present the art most faithfully, the illustrations are reproduced full size, on uncoated sheet, printed one side to avoid show-through. The printer used florescent inks to do justice to brighter colors. The artist comments, “I cannot remember when I have been so satisfies with any production of my work.”

Special feature: volume is enclosed in box manufactured by A.F. French & Company, Inc., covered with Strathmore Grandee Navarre Blue supplied by Carter Rice Storrs & Bement, Inc. Label, from overrun of title page, pasted on front cover.
