Keeping things simple for this particular book of short stories was the challenge. To attract the youthful audience the book speaks to, I wanted to create an original typeface that was modern yet uncommon. Since the book was a collection of short stories, I wanted the type to evoke several varied moods. With the various elements of type design at play—spacing, placement, color and texture—I believe I achieved that mood while keeping it visually simplistic.
