Description

This book is for an exhibit that will travel to three cities over the next two years. As we were undertaking the design of the book, our challenge was to anticipate the design before the artist had finished creating the new work for the show. Some of the artwork was shot after we designed the pages, and the flow of the exhibit heavily influenced the narrative of the book as a whole.

In designing books about art, I think it is important for the viewer to experience the work as if they were there in perso. Cropping, focus on details and juxtaposition of type and color can help frame and highlight those aspects of the artwork that are missing in a more traditional art book layout.
