Designing an environment that was physically and emotionally sympathetic to the artist’ photographs was the biggest challenge. I decided to embrace the mundane. I did this by refining a very limited number of design factors into a strategy that appears as if nothing much is going on, but on closer inspection has subtle relationships with the work and the idea of how we perceive change occurring over time.
