The special challenge in Faces was to give a smooth flow from color to black-and-white images, from single photos to spreads. My design solution was to be simple and clean. The publisher determined the book size, which we then revised to better accommodate the 4 x 5 transparency proportions. I am most happy with the quality of the reproductions.
