Description

Word + Image: Swiss Poster Design, 1955–1997 is an exhibition catalogue documenting the brilliance of Swiss poster designers from the Modernist period through the present. To demonstrate the diversity in Swiss design aesthetic, Rosmarie Tissi, Bruno Monguzzi and Wolfgang Weingart designed covers for the catalogue. The interior of the catalogue was designed to complement all three covers. The 6 x 9 inch format, though unusual for a catalogue, was economical for printing and assembly. The warm red and white covers refer to the official colors of the Swiss flag. The text and images in the catalogue make for a document reflecting the importance and power of Swiss poster design.
