(2001) 50 Books/50 Covers of 2000
|
This small book was designed to celebrate and document the exquisite collection of fine press and artists books given to the gallery by Patricia G. England, and includes an interview with the donor, a few photographs of choice objects illustrating the range of the collection and—at the back, printed on a different color stock—a complete catalogue of the collection’s holdings. The design was conceived as something serious, intimate and a little bit luxuriant, with marble paper dividers taken directly from one of the collection’s books; the treatment of these divider pages draw on the idea of the “bookplate.”
