This prototype font specimen kit is mailed to graphic designers, art directors, and creatives interested in or responsible for the purchasing of typography. Its purpose/strategy is to act as a type catalogue demonstrating the fonts in a variety of uses ranging from print media to interactive design (through the interactive catalogue included).
The 6 x 9–inch format allows the kit to be easily and inexpensively updated with new materials as new fonts are added. It also gives Prototype the ability to use standard paper sizes such as 8-1/2 x 11 for short runs or special promotions.
I value this project as an outlet for personal expression and experimentation. It combined content (art), design, and typography without straying from its intended purpose and audience, demonstrating excellence in communication.
