Description

More than any other athlete, Michael Jordan represents the literal incorporation of his sport: a Zen hoops archetype inhabiting that rarefied sphere where intuition and ability merge into a perfect “oneness of being.” Our objective was to design a poster for Michael that illuminates the transcendent state where consciousness and activity meld into a seamless whole; a poster reflecting paradoxes of controlled fury, of repose in chaos, of lessons taught in silence. The radiating lines luminescing toward the central image evoke a disciplined focusing of psychic energy as well as a relentless outflow of basketball enlightenment from The Master.
