Description

In 1995, the development department at Princeton University launched a major capital campaign keyed to the school’s 250th anniversary. Pentagram was asked to coordinate all the materials related to the campaign, which included brochures, invitations, programs, folders, newsletters, stationery, buttons, sweatshirts, and environmental graphics.

The client proposed “With One Accord” as the theme for the campaign, words that appear in the last verse of Princeton’s alma mater. This theme and the campaign were introduced to the Princeton community with a small book simply titled “One.” In it, phrases like “With One Goal” and “With One Foundation” are paired with images containing the number “1” that would be instantly recognizable to Princeton alumni: a detail from the cornerstone of the campus’s most historic building, the stadium scoreboard, New Jersey U.S. Route 1 sign.
