What if television was controlled by the people that made those science film strips in elementary school? This was the concept. The parameter was a small budget, but we decided to let this work for us rather than against us. If we try to make look like a million bucks, it’ll fail. We scrimped on everything, everything bur the Flame we used to put it together. Artists never created those film strips, so we tried not to be artistic, and ended up with a negative of an image, in a sense—where bad is actually good.
