Description

The Extreme Games are an Olympic style competition that focuses on unconventional sports: bungee jumping, sky surfing, street luge, skateboarding, mountain biking, sport climbing, windsurfing, in-line skating and eco challenge. Because of the extreme nature of the games, the graphics had to convey a similar edge and reflect the attitude of the participating athletes.
The package utilized a deconstructive font combined with images of equipment and live shots from the individual sports. Design elements incorporated specific color palettes and iconography. Animations were organized into event “pods”, which are a series of nine opens and related graphics for each discipline. The logo, pods, opens and hallmark I.D., created a comprehensive look for the Extreme Games, while reflecting the styles of ESPN and ESPN 2.
