Turner Classic Movies Director of the Month is aimed at film buffs. The title sequence serves as the introduction for each program in this recurring series which features the work of various film directors. The creative strategy behind this work was to reflect the golden age of film titles both in composition and the style of animation—to make it look like the sequence was shot 30 years ago on film, but to give it a contemporary edge. This piece pays tribute to a classic style while translating it into a modern aesthetic.
