When asked to design the invitation for my “Class of ‘81” high school reunion, we decided to overprint different vintage record albums, all published in 1981. It took our intern a good while to find enough albums from that year in vintage record stores and it took our designer Matthias some time to silk-screen them all.
“It’s a smart idea. And music was so evocative of my time in college. The idea of it being a record from that time is smart. And the graphics work really well as a screen over many different albums.”
