Description

The publisher gave us a very open brief: write and design a book about Graphic Thought Facility’s interests.

Being used to the discipline of working to tighter briefs, (we hardly ever produce self-authored work) we redefined the challenge as: how can we present our commercial work to a broader audience that is more than just another design monograph of squared-up images?

We laid out ten years of work on the floor and wheeled a homemade “copy-camera” over it, shooting sections to a fixed scale.

Back in the design studio we converted a Casio wristwatch-camera to scan 35 mm contact sheets for the contextual images for inclusion in the book.

I am happy that we managed to create a sense of theatre from the two-dimensional content.
