The objective was to make a readable, interesting design for a listing of old books. By using two colors throughout, some rules and a handsome typographic layout—together with a sprinkling of full-color illustrations—we achieved the desired look. I’m happiest with the way the type falls on the page and the quality of the printing. The intended audiences were book collectors and students of American literature.
