Description

Because of the diversity of art and storytelling used by the comics in this collection, the primary challenge was to unify without taking away from the individual voice of each story. Two stories were too long for the main book, and were printed in books of their own, and the same identity problem—unified versus individual—was presented. I used a two-color patterned cover—based on a single shape that is derived from the book’s content—with the same colors being used again on the inside, the darker color as line art. Thus, maintaining their individuality through design and layout, the books nonetheless appear to be a set when presented together.
