Entertainment Weekly ends every year with our annual “Best and Worst” issue, which catalogues the year’s entertainment highs and lows. Since this list is an annual occurrence, the challenge is to commission art each year that articulates the “best and worst” concept in a way that feels new. Brian Cronin’s clever, subtle illustration for the list’s opening spread depicts the “polished” and the “unpolished.”
