The Scholarship Foundation, an organization that provides interest-free loans to students, wanted its annual report to review the past year’s highlights. Since the organization is based on the value of education in democracy, we structured the book around the notable quotes of former U.S. presidents. The lineal drawings are emblematic of the forward progression of education. We explored the foundation’s direct impact with profiles of its five most celebrated students. The challenge was to find a compelling way to communicate vast amounts of information at a low cost. We achieved this with a 28-page layout, cheaply produced on newsprint.
