Description

This twice-yearly publication deals with the intersection of performing and visual arts, taking a different theme for each issue. “Picnic” explores the rituals of the picnic and its material culture. As in most issues of 2wice, we first present the theme in a historical context with some rare images of the picnic tradition, setting the stage for the more contemporary photographic tableaux produced by the designers. The goal in terms of the design was to echo that historical tradition (predominantly Victorian) with the modernity of present-day photography and type.
