Description

The idea for Get Red! began with a very narrow visual concept—present a collection of powerful photos that share only a common color. By mixing in some interesting facts about each image, we thought we had a successful children’s book. But when we failed to crack even the slightest smile with our most important focus group, our own kids, we realized that we were missing the obvious—a story. So we wrote one about an imaginative kid and his sassy red crayon who brags about all the important red stuff in the world. Voilà! Our kids actually smiled!
