Description

This exhibition deals with contemporary painting that responds aggressively to our shifting technological and cultural landscape. Entering the gallery was initially disorienting, as the works were so overwhelming in scale and color; I wanted to bring that sense of awe to the catalogue as well. Beginning the catalogue with tightly cropped details of the works before revealing them in full gives the reader an opportunity to experience the intensity of the works in a way not usually afforded in a publication.
