Each day, an illustration is commissioned to accompany the lead editorial on the Op-Ed page of the New York Times. This typographic device ran alongside the editorial “Why the Mullahs Love a Revolution” on April 23, 2003, at a moment when Iran appeared to be the next target for U.S.-led regime change.
The idea hits you right away and leaves an impression. It conveys a huge amount of commentary in such a simple way. Very effective.
