In recognition of their first anniversary, La Casa Encendida asked Base to design a special book to give to their clients. The main condition was that it include work by the artists who had had exhibitions throughout that year.
As we began to conceive of the project, we decided to work with the physical materials and textures that the artists used in their work. We presented the idea to the client and they accepted immediately. We then began designing and researching how much would be possible from a printing perspective.
In the end, the variety and overall quality of materials combined to form a beautiful book. While it didn’t bring a monetary return on investment, the project was a promotional success.
“A rich compendium of fine printing, papers, and design.” Jack Woody
