The goal of this project was to design a tiny version of a classic book with proportions similar to that of an illuminated manuscript. This would provide a system—a classically based grid—to work from, and this system would show the beauty and simplicity of the photographs and the poetry of the words in a simple and pure form. The calligraphy was incorporated to add another layer, a feeling of something handwritten, personal, feminine and elegant. The end product is almost exactly what was originally presented. I am most happy with the typographic details and the natural human feeling that comes across in the photographs.
