When the band first mentioned their cover idea of a woman giving birth to a baby cannonball-style, we immediately thought of Bill Barminski’s work. The band loved his paintings and entrusted Bill to come up with an idea for the cover. They even let him break the “please, no fish on the cover” rule. We shot the band in an old hotel in downtown L.A. and the photographer gave us a great range of photos to work with. Both illustration and photography were blended in Photoshop to create the rest of the package.
